Dave recently joined us after working as Director of the Appellate Division of the Georgia Public Defender Council (GPDC) in downtown Atlanta. While there, he was in charge of over 1000 pending criminal appeals and supervised a full time staff of 12 appellate specialists. In his first year of full-time appellate practice with GPDC, Dave added 8 wins to his record, including 3 murder appeals, three drug appeals, an armed robbery and a DUI appeal. He ran a very popular series of continuing education seminars on criminal appellate practice for GPDC, and wrote their training materials.
Dave has over 25 years of experience in criminal defense, has served as a magistrate judge in Gwinnett County, and is the author of “101 Ways to Beat a Marijuana Charge in Georgia” (Lulu press) He is a member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Defense of Drinking Drivers groups, and the Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Georgia. He was appointed by the Georgia Supreme Court to be a mentor for the Transition into Law Practice Program of the State Bar of Georgia.
